



Mr. Bassel Rahmy is the Chief Executive Officer of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA).
Mr. Rahmy has over 27 years of experience in the banking and financial sectors, during which he held senior leadership positions at several prominent local and international banks, including ALEXBANK, Citibank, Barclays, Société Générale, and Arab Bank.
He also held executive roles at subsidiaries of major banks, such as Sandah Group, affiliated with the Arab African International Bank, and Shari, affiliated with EGBank. Bassel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Freed-Hardeman University in Tennessee, USA, with a major in Finance and a minor in Marketing.
During his leadership at MSMEDA, he successfully oversaw the disbursement of EGP 3.7 billion in just nine months, benefiting 120,000 small and micro enterprises and contributing to the creation of approximately 199,000 job opportunities. Additionally, he allocated EGP 102 million in grants to support social development projects and training programs.
He played a key role in empowering women, who represent 43% of the beneficiaries, and focused on enhancing e-commerce and export initiatives. He also provided technical support to 3,582 projects, conducted 27 feasibility studies, and facilitated the registration of 2,474 vendors across various governorates in cooperation with government entities.
Bassel has also served as an Independent Board Member at Misr Insurance Company since 2017.
