BUSINESS & ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS :

1. “Glocalisation: Think Global, Act Local’

An approach based on the Value proposition business model, whereby client needs and business processes are fundamental in the design of offering and value proposition. In the International Contracting Engineering Industry organisations are working on the basis of a system of matching needs and offering. This model aims to increase efficiencies in the systems to reduce non value added cost.

2. ‘Associated Alliances Business Model’

The Associated Alliances Business Model concept developed by Dewanand Mahadew and explains that organisations need to operate in networks of (virtual) alliances based on values shared by their partners, clients and suppliers. This model enables for higher efficiencies in innovation, entrepreneurship and co-creation and is designed to fulfil the lifestyle and life comfort needs of the future customers.

3. ‘Electronic Market place Business Model’

A model to create efficiencies in the cost of transactions between buying and supplying organisations. This model has been used for the conceptualisation of the market place business model for the European utilities industry. The development of business models to reduce the operational cost of business transactions between buying and supplying organisations to improve their competitiveness.

4. “The dynamics of Change in Organisations”

Changing and re-engineering of organisations is costly, inefficient and very often not successful despite the fact that in essence the conceived change has a lot of benefits. CV Professor Dr. Dewanand Mahadew Page 3 of 6 June 2010 The focus is on studying the parameters that are crucial (Critical Success Factors) for successful implementation of change in organisations.

5. “Business Practices Adaption model”

Business practices are methods, procedures, processes, rules employed or followed by a firm in the pursuit of its objectives and methods are established, habitual, logical, or prescribed practice or systematic process of achieving certain ends with accuracy and efficiency, usually in an ordered sequence of fixed steps. The Business practices adaption model developed by Professor Mahadew argues that the uniformity of international business operations and the characteristics of the business practices within these operations is defined by three major criteria:

  • Maturity of the market: influenced by the welfare level, degree of competition
  • Maturity of the business sector: influenced by the degree of internationalisation and the advancement of the sector
  • Cultural elements: influenced by traditions and local regulations
These criteria define the extent to which academic models are adapted and deployed into the daily business operations. Because of these influences academic models are not adapted into business practices in an identical way all over the world; each region of the world will, consciously or unconsciously integrate own elements (cultural elements, traditions etc.) in the implementation and practicing of a model. These elements also characterise the way how business practices are organised and used.

6. “Netmarketing Concept”

A model to generate revenues from networking, alliances and partnerships.

7. “Executive Coaching Model”

A model for coaching executives to enable them to profile themselves in an objective manner and deploy their (real) strengths and capabilities in achieving business and social targets.
